The page views are about to go sky high up in this joint because I am going to be refreshing every 5 minutes until Larry Spencer shows his face on the blog to pretend like nothing really ever happened and oh gee shucks I lost but it was a nice try and I guess I can try to blame Mike Kennedy for this somehow and hey how about next time and blah blah blah blah.
He says these things like he’s got everything under control but you know and I know and all of us in here know that Larry is sprawled out face-down on the linoleum of his double-wide’s kitchen, kicking his feet and pounding his fists into the floor, screaming about life’s great inequities.
Larry — and much of the moron OpenCDA crowd — has always relied on the echo chamber of the internet forum/message board/newspaper comment section to give themselves a false belief that their opinions are shared by more people than actually are. Uh guess what Larry. Your reputation isn’t actually sterling in the eyes of people who don’t spend all day curating their online personas. See, out there, in the real world? You’re just that weird dude who is always complaining about something wrong with the government and blah blah blah blah.
Wait, let me get this straight: Larry Spencer ran a technocratic campaign bankrolled by out-of-state residents that could most generously be called a revenge-motivated public hissy fit? That, by all appearances he ran solely so he could reverse the many decisions the Land board made against his trailer park rezoning efforts? That his campaign literature delved into bizarre, obscure details about the inner workings of government that most people could give two craps about? That his reputation as a decade-long petulant crybaby law-breaker (trespassing, lying, car repossession, ill-informed gadfly) followed him to the voting booth? That with all those factors in his favor he still managed an embarrassing, pitiful loss?!?!?!?! Whhhaaaaaaaattttt???!!!!
Population of Kootenai County: 138,901 Conservative estimate of voting age population: 100,000 Registered voters: 69,803. Number of voters this election: 14,811 Number of votes to win a majority vote: 7, 406.
7400 people or LESS made election decisions tonight. Less than eight percent of the eligible voters chose your new overseers, nee public servants.
Franklin famously said “I give you a Republic, if you can keep it.”
In order for the elected legislative and executive/administrative bureacrats to represent the WILL of the people, you’d think that’d take more than 15% of the electorate.
We couldn’t keep the Republic. Not the one with democratic ideals and principles.
The overseers represent a tiny fraction of the public. But they will do their best in telling US what to do.
No Maul, after the performance of Scott and your Tubbs Hill genius you better prepare for court. I’ll bet after being in the cooler you are just dying for a Hudsons hamburger !
Kathy Sims got 10% fewer votes than John Goedde when both were unopposed. Looks like hitching your wagon to crazy constitutionalists doesn’t play well with Coeur d’Alene Republicans.
No, not quite.
More like 15% max of the eligible to vote population [100k].
Which means 7.501% of the electorate can elect their chosen candidate. That’s about 7500 people.
America, what a country.

LULZ for Larry!
Off to bed, troops … we’ll figure out who holds sway in GOP CC in the morning.
Well said lulz.
And btw there’s only one person you can trust when you’re in politics.
Can anyone guess who that is?
Ahhh, never mind, the answer is your mother. She has to.
8 PERCENT of the electorate has spoken and chosen your dear leaders.
Do not cross this dominating mandate for them to do whatever will get them elected next time.

Phae baby, you just get your bail posted and you come out swinging—a hat tip in your direction, as I go off to bed to dream about drowning worms.
No, thank Gerald Arno.

SPEN-SAH, EPIC FAIL.
phinehasfury, I’m just following conservative orthodoxy: it’s true if I believe it is.

I thought my dear friend Dino ate Darth. Funny how rumors go sometimes.

I need a punching bag or an indoor archery range for nights like tonight.
Oh well, guess I’ll see how the fish are biting tomorrow.
We collected nearly 800 signatures today. Prepare for the next election.
Jeff Tyler + 9 vote loss = Starr Kelso!!
DFO,
You forgot to close the door !

It appears that Dan Green + 7 million dollar parking garage = Larry Spencer losing an election.
Kootenai County voters dont want Larry Spencer to fix the government.
Thank the Lord. Sanity still reigns !
No, thank Gerald Arno.
