Sewage spills in Post Falls
February 3, 2012 6:19 p.m. - Updated: 6:20 p.m.
The City of Post Falls reported a sewage leak this afternoon that spilled about 50,000 gallons.
The spill occurred about 3 p.m. and leaked the sewage into the former manufactured-housing park west of the Post Falls Senior Center, according to a City of Post Falls news release.
City officials believe the spill was caused by a power spike at the lift station that caused a temporary failure, the news release said. Crews have repaired the 3rd Street Lift Station.
City crews were on the scene within fifteen minutes of receiving reports of a spill and the site was cleaned up by late afternoon, the news release said. The city reported the incident to the Department of Environmental Quality and will have a hydrologist monitor the spill’s effects. Results from the monitoring could take up to 30 days.

well, poop
crap!
I’m old enough to remember when “sewage treatment” consisted of a pipe that ended at the river. Compared to that, the rare spill these days is hard to get too concerned about.
drink up spokane, all that low ph detergent we have to buy is going to help!
